Farming futures is a one day event on the 12th October 2011 at the Kent County Showground aimed at secondary school pupils with the objective of providing them with information on potential careers and further education in agricultural, farming and environmental sectors.

The event is free and will involve around 2000 children whereby they will be led around different zones that include Training and Education, Machinery, Farming and Livestock, Crops and Crafts and Healthy eating.

The principal function of the day is to highlight the variety of job opportunities in the sector, promoting the idea of jobs not only as farm managers and marketers, but also engineers and chemists.

There will also be the guidance of experienced trainers and employers in addition to the educational, enjoyable activities and demonstrations on offer.
