Farming Futures in its inaugural year proved a great hit with all involved.

The Why Farming Matters stand was particularly busy, with our informative chalk boards being a success yet again with plenty of students quizzing our experts and finding out as much as they could.

The event saw over 400 students attend from 14 different schools and 40 exhibitors. MIlbourne Equine commenting: “I was thoroughly impressed with the first, of what I hope turns out to be a regular occurrence, Farming Futures exhibition.”

The next event Why Farming Matters will be attending will be the National Fruit Show at Detling on Wednesday 19th and Thursday 20th.

This one day event being held at the Kent Showground is a way of helping young people (aged 13 to 16) to understand the importance of the agricultural industry and the huge array of jobs it now encompasses.

The event will see a host of hands-on interactive activities within 4 information areas with the experts and specialists in their fields on hand to offer direct advice.

Farming futures if a great way of informing students as to the significance of agriculture and can open up options they never thought existed.
